Joe Heck Relies on Right-Wing Friends to Spread Lies About Health Reform

This week seniors across Nevada and the country who are facing high prescription drug prices are beginning to receive $250 checks to help make ends meet, thanks to Rep. Dina Titus and Democrats in Congress.

Meanwhile, Joe Heck is letting his right-wing cronies do his dirty work: attacking Rep. Titus for supporting the health insurance reform bill that made those checks possible. Their ad targeting Rep. Titus is filled with lies and misinformation about what health insurance reform will do.

Reform will benefit Nevada's seniors by strengthening Medicare by cutting waste, fraud, and abuse while preserving all guaranteed benefits, and by enhancing Medicare Advantage with new consumer protections. And it will mean 13,000 residents of Rep. Titus’ district will get $250 check to help close the Medicare donut hole, helping seniors with rising drug prices when they need it most.

Heck wants to snatch those checks from the hands of seniors, raise taxes on small businesses, kick young adults off their parents insurance plans and make insurance company discrimination and the disgusting practice of dropping customers when they get sick legal once again.

And what this deceitful ad doesn’t tell you is that it’s Heck who wants to raise drug prices for seniors, raise taxes on small businesses and allow Big Insurance to keep up the abuses and discrimination that made health insurance reform necessary in the first place.”
