Las Vegas, NV – Nevada Senator Harry Reid released the following statement today reminding Nevadans that the mail-in voter registration deadline is extended through Tuesday, October 11. On Friday, Nevada’s Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske extended the mail-in voter registration deadline to comply with the National Voter Registration Act of 1993, which states that registration by mail must be available until at least 30 days before an election. Mail-in voter registration forms must be postmarked by Tuesday, October 11.
"Dark money from billionaires like the Koch Brothers has poured into Nevada trying to buy this election," said Senator Harry Reid. "Democracy trumps dark money but only if we vote. Extending the mail-in voter registration deadline ensures Nevadans aren't disenfranchised and every eligible voter has a chance to register. Let's make this extension count."
