Ahead of Competitive Reelection, Poll Shows Majority of Nevadans Approve of Governor Sisolak’s COVID-19 Response

Today, the Las Vegas Review-Journal released a poll showing a majority of Nevadans approve of Governor Steve Sisolak’s handling of COVID-19 as well as strong job approval ratings. Sisolak’s approval ratings have increased since October, becoming more favorable among independents.

This comes after Sisolak posted strong fundraising numbers for 2020, entering the cycle with the highest cash on hand amount for a first term governor at over $4.5 million.

Nevada State Democratic Party Chair William McCurdy II released the following statement:

“Despite relentless and baseless attacks from the Nevada GOP, Nevadans know what we know: Governor Steve Sisolak continues to put working families first when faced with incredibly difficult decisions regarding our state’s response to COVID-19. Nevada is among the hardest hit states, but with Governor Sisolak at the helm, we’ve been able to reopen safely, get Nevadans vaccinated, and get employees and small business owners back to work. Sisolak has taken a science-based approach to his response to this pandemic regardless of pressures to reopen before it was safe. That’s why Nevadans will re-elect him in 2022.”
