The Operations Director will ensure the Rosen campaign team functions at a high level and succeeds every day across departments. This role will be in charge of overseeing human resources, managing office administration, acquiring supplies and equipment, working with outside vendors as needed, creating processes for the campaign and staff, and assisting with scheduling both internally and with external stakeholders. The Operations Director will be involved in ensuring that payroll, billing, and compliance are properly handled and taking on special projects, including managing budgets for specific tasks. This individual must be comfortable dealing with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality. The Operations Director will also work to ensure daily briefing materials from various departments are prepared and organized. This is a supervisory position and will report directly to the Campaign Manager.
Duties & responsibilities:
- Work with campaign senior staff to integrate systems across departments
- Develop and implement effective plans and internal processes for the campaign
- Coordinate logistics and advance for any major campaign events
- Hire and supervise the work of the operations, advance, and scheduling teams
- Oversee Human Resources and the onboarding of new employees
- Oversee and manage payroll, vacation/sick time, benefits, reimbursements
- Support staff recruitment and interview processes to build a diverse and representative team
- Manage vendor and partner campaign relationships to streamline and lead approvals and item procurement
- Work with the Campaign Manager, Finance Director, and the campaign’s compliance firm and legal counsel to ensure compliance with applicable laws and FEC rules
- Taking on special projects, including managing budgets for specific tasks
- Other responsibilities as required assisting other departments
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years professional experience including in an operations or logistics focused role, ideally in politics or campaigns
- Excellent organizational, communication, writing, and leadership skills
- Strong proficiency in spreadsheets and budgets
- Ability to interact professionally with staff and external stakeholders
- Ability to manage several projects at the same time while prioritizing and multitasking in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented and good follow-through on tasks
- Experience working in an office setting
- Commitment to maintaining a high level of confidentiality and discretion
Compensation:
- Starting Salary: $8,000/month or commensurate with experience
- Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance available at no cost to employee
- Leave: Paid time off will be available per campaign policy
- Hours: The schedule will vary over time and is expected to require evening and weekend work during the course of the election cycle
