About the Opportunity
NV Dems is seeking a talented Voter File Manager to ensure that all our Democratic candidates and campaigns have the data tools they need to succeed. The Voter File Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of VAN, ensuring the voter file is up to date, and supporting Democratic candidates and campaigns across the state to meet their data infrastructure and training needs. This individual will be a member of the broader team who will work across departments to identify issues and implement solutions, providing exciting professional exposure to all elements of a robust, battleground state party.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain and maintain Voter Files from State Election Authority on a monthly basis and send to the DNC for processing
- Administer the State Party’s VAN (VoteBuilder) and all users and committees within it
- Respond to VAN user support requests and train users on VAN usage, committee & user administration, and data standards
- Obtain Election Day polling locations from State and Local Election Authorities, and format and upload them to VAN, LBJ, and IWillVote.com
- During early voting periods, obtain data on voters who have cast mail ballots or voted early in person as available, and upload to the DNC for processing.
- Work with DNC, DSCC, DCCC and DLCC on program goals, as necessary
- Grant Phoenix access to down ballot campaigns and in-state vendors as needed
Core Competencies:
- Experience on a political data team is preferred, but not required – Preference is given to individuals with a strong understanding of political campaigns and organizing principles who are committed to winning elections for Democrats.
- Experience with VAN / VoteBuilder
- Experience working on a campaign
- Proficient with Google Sheets and/or Excel
- Familiarity with the Democratic data & tech ecosystem and commonly used tools
- Ability to clearly communicate deadlines, goals, roadblocks
- Comfort explaining technical concepts to non-technical users, especially VAN usage and data standards
- Willingness to ask questions and grow within a technical role with constantly changing priorities
- Appetite for independent learning
- Nice to have:
- Familiarity with BigQuery
- Basic knowledge of SQL
- Understanding of targeting and voter contact universe building
- Customer service experience

This is an entry-level data role. The starting salary for this position is $6,000 per month, or $72,000 annually, and includes medical, dental, and vision benefits.
