Michael Roberson Again Votes to Keep Guns in the Hands of Criminals and the Mentally Ill

Las Vegas, NVNevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Zach Hudson released the following statement after former Tom DeLay operative and GOP Senate boss Michael Roberson and his caucus voted to uphold Governor Sandoval’s veto of common sense background checks:

“Today Michael Roberson and Senate Republicans reaffirmed their opposition to common sense background checks to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and people with severe mental illnesses.  Roberson and his followers in the Senate made clear that protecting Nevada families from gun violence takes a back seat to appeasing the extreme elements of the TEA Party and gun lobbyists in Washington.  We’d say we were surprised, but this is only the latest example of Michael Roberson putting partisan politics and special interests ahead of Nevada families.”
