Yesterday various press outlets reported that Roger Stone will headline a fundraiser for Danny Tarkanian in Florida on October 29th. Roger Stone is known for his advocacy for dishonesty and dirty tricks in American politics, summed up in his infamous quote: “admit nothing, deny everything, launch counterattack.” Stone was a minor player in the Nixon Watergate scandal, and bragged to the New Yorker about his participation in the Nixon dirty trick machine.
Roger Stone is purportedly under investigation for his involvement with the Russian government’s hacking of Democrats in the 2016 election. Stone said publicly that “Robert Mueller is coming for me.” Stone’s former business partner, Paul Manafort, has already been tried and convicted for his illegal business dealing with the Russian government, and has since begun cooperating with the Mueller investigation.
Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Michael Soneff released the following statement:
“It is hard to imagine a more perfect pair than Danny Tarkanian and Roger Stone. They both lack any regard for truth, treat voters with disdain, and will scam anyone and everyone to help themselves. The only obvious differences between them are that Stone openly brags about his dishonesty, and has the self awareness not to run for political office. Asking Roger Stone to host a fundraiser is a tell that Danny lacks any moral character, and Las Vegas voters will read it like a book. Danny Tarkanian is unfit for office, and will be rejected once again on November 6.”
