Over the weekend, Nevadans across the state came together virtually to organize with the Nevada State Democratic Party for a health care weekend of action. With Trump and Republicans continuing their dangerous agenda of ripping health care away from millions of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Nevadans during a global pandemic, NV Dems is reminding Nevada voters what’s a stake in this election. Health care remains a top issue for voters in the Silver State. Among those contacted this weekend, 81% indicated health care is a top issue for them in the upcoming election.
Across Saturday and Sunday, NV Dems:
- Hosted more than 70 virtual events
- Completed nearly 300 volunteer shifts
- Reached out to 2,664 Nevadans
This was NV Dems first Weekend of Action since expanding our staff and nearly doubling our team of field organizers. In addition to ramping up hiring, more than 30 volunteer leaders across the state have completed our volunteer organizer bootcamp and throughout the weekend hosted more than 60 of their own events.
Nevada State Democratic Party Chair William McCurdy II released the following statement:
“From working to end protections for patients with preexisting conditions to vowing to ‘terminate health care’ altogether, Trump and the GOP continue to put partisan politics ahead of our health. Even in the midst of a pandemic in which more than 100,000 Americans have lost their lives, this administration is adamant in repealing the ACA despite it being one of our most critical tools to protect against the consequences of the coronavirus. NV Dems is working hard to ensure voters know everything at stake in this election because Nevada’s hardworking families deserve better. We deserve a leader in the White House who will work to expand access to quality, affordable care and, that person is Joe Biden.”
