LAS VEGAS—Nevada State Democratic Party (NSDP) Chairwoman Judith Whitmer today announced the party’s latest fundraising haul of more than $500,000 in grassroots donations from 16,500 individual contributions since the election of new party leadership on March 6th. The Party’s fundraising was bolstered by efforts from national progressives, including Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, to help NSDP reestablish its operational strength.
“I can’t thank everyone enough for their solidarity and for helping build up the Nevada State Democratic Party with grassroots support,” Whitmer said. “We are humbled by all the messages of support and donations that have poured in. We will work hard to deliver on behalf of every single Nevadan and make grassroots organizing a fundamental part of everything we do. Thank you for trusting us to do the important and necessary work of electing Democrats up and down the ballot.”
Last month, NV Dems launched a volunteer-run outreach program to provide Nevadans information on the American Rescue Plan, help them know what they qualify for, and understand how they can receive the benefits. For the next six months, NV Dems will target Nevadans and their households all across the state through phone calls, text messaging, and door-to-door canvassing—particularly in hard to reach communities.
