Today, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released its state-specific unemployment data, which revealed that Nevada’s unemployment rate sits at 13.2% thanks to Donald Trump’s catastrophic mismanagement of the pandemic.
In response, Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Madison Mundy issued the following statement:
“Today’s jobs numbers prove what we already knew from Donald Trump’s reckless rallies over the weekend: Nevadans are paying the price for Trump’s failure of leadership. Six months after he lied to the American people about the severity of the virus and put himself ahead of our nation’s safety, Nevada is still facing a double-digit unemployment rate, more than 1,500 lives lost, and hundreds of thousands out of work. But instead of working to get relief to struggling families, Trump denied our Governor’s request for aid to combat the outbreak, picked petty fights on Twitter, and then held superspreader rallies in our state that endangered public health. Nevadans are fed up with Trump’s chaos and crisis — and this fall, they’ll hold his criminally selfish behavior accountable.”
