NV Dems Announce Delegate Selection Plan Approval

by Nevada Democrats

Today on a call with reporters, the Nevada State Democratic Party announced their delegate selection plan had been moved into full compliance by the DNC’s Rules and Bylaws Committee.

On the call, DNC Chair Tom Perez and NV Dems Chair William McCurdy II discussed how the NV Dems team has been working diligently to put on the most expansive, accessible, and transparent caucus yet — while laying the groundwork to defeat Trump in the general election. As the First in the West and third in the nation contest, Nevada plays a crucial role in determining our party’s nominee. That’s why our party designed a caucus process that will expand access to all Nevadans. By offering four days of in-person early voting at nearly 80 locations across the state, as well as multilingual caucus materials and workplace caucus sites to accommodate our 24-hour workforce, the caucuses will be the most accessible Nevada contest in history.

Nevada Democrats also have a multilingual organizing team working in every county of the state since August 2019 preparing for the caucus while also building the infrastructure Democrats’ eventual nominee will need to win the state in 2020.

“I am so proud of the work NV Dems has accomplished on behalf of all Nevada Democrats,” said DNC Chair Tom Perez. “That hard work has resulted in the opportunity for unprecedented participation. The addition of early voting, multilingual preference cards, and training materials guarantees more Nevadans will have access to the caucus than ever before. These reforms will help lay the foundation to win in 2020, defeat Donald Trump, and build a more inclusive electorate.”

“The primary goal in crafting this plan was to ensure as many Nevada Democrats as possible are given the opportunity to make their voice heard, and I believe we will do that in 2020,” said NV Dems Chair William McCurdy II. “Nevada plays a critical role in the presidential primary and we take our role as an early state incredibly serious. I am grateful to have the support of the DNC and Chair Tom Perez as we make history in February and take back the White House next November.”
