Reno, NV - Yesterday at the Nevada State Democratic Party’s State Central Committee (SCC) meeting in Reno, Democrats from across the state re-elected William McCurdy II to serve as Party Chair.
Nevada State Democratic Party Chair William McCurdy II released the following statement:
“I am honored to continue leading our Party as we work to build upon our historic gains in 2018. As a united Democratic Party, we accomplished so much on behalf of all Nevadans. Because of our hard work, we are the first and only state in the country with a female-majority state legislature. For the first time in our state’s history, we are represented by two female U.S. Senators. After more than 20 years, Democrats now control the Governor’s Mansion and can see legislation lifting up every community signed into law.
“We’ve laid the groundwork for a blue Nevada and I know next year, we will bring a blue wave back to our state. I look forward to seeing all that we can accomplish in 2020 and beyond.”
In addition to re-electing McCurdy as Chair, SCC members re-elected Marty McGarry as First Vice-Chair, elected Paul Speirs-Hernandez as Second Vice-Chair, and re-elected Marla Turner as Secretary, and Jan Churchill as Treasurer.
