Today, Governor Sisolak signed into law much-needed legislation to lift up Nevada’s workforce, including allowing state worker collective bargaining (SB135), raising the minimum wage (AB456), implementing paid sick leave (SB312), and ensuring equal pay for equal work (SB166).
Nevada State Democratic Party Chair William McCurdy II released the following statement:
“Nevada Democrats are making enormous progress to empower hardworking families by implementing paid sick leave, restoring prevailing wage, allowing state workers to bargain collectively, protecting against gender pay discrimination, and raising our minimum wage. For far too long, those working full-time earning minimum wage have been forced to work multiple jobs just to make ends meet. These critical bills will not only boost paychecks but help employers retain talented employees and strengthen our economy, as well. I am grateful to the Governor and our leaders in the Senate and Assembly for putting in the work to finally make Nevada workers a top priority.”
