Three Years Later, Trump Can’t Run Away From His Broken Promises to Nevada

by Nevada Democrats

In response to the three-year anniversary of Donald Trump’s campaign rally in Las Vegas on October 30, 2016, Nevada State Democratic Party Chair William McCurdy II released the following statement:

“Three years ago today, Donald Trump came to Las Vegas and promised to fight for working Nevadans. Instead, he has only fought to enrich himself and his powerful friends. Meanwhile, he has hiked our taxes, sabotaged our health care and left Nevada in the dust. Nevadans saw through his empty promises in 2016, and we’ll reject his record of broken promises in 2020.”

BACKGROUND ON TRUMP’S BROKEN PROMISES TO NEVADA

Promise: "We're going to have health care that is so good and so much less expensive … I'm asking for your vote, so we can save health care for every family in your state and in this country."

Reality: Trump and Republicans are working everyday to eliminate the Affordable Care Act which would rip care from 282,000 Nevadans and millions of Americans across the country.

Promise: "We're going to cut taxes for middle class family [sic] by hundreds of billions of dollars a year.”

Reality: Trump’s tax scam has raised taxes on millions of Americans while handing massive giveaways to large corporations.

Promise: “At the core of my contract is my plan to bring back our jobs.”

Reality: Trump’s tax scam incentivizes corporations to ship even more jobs overseas.
