Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Molly Forgey released the following statement:
“The Trump Administration has worked since day one to undermine the Affordable Care Act and rip health care away from hundreds of thousands of Nevadans. Since taking office, Trump made it his top priority to end protections for patients with pre-existing conditions and to make it harder for Nevada families to receive the care they deserve. Under Democratic leadership, our state codified protections for the more than 1.2 million Nevadans with pre-existing conditions because we know Republicans can’t be trusted with our health care. That’s why our state rejected Trump’s cronies in 2018 and will, once again, reject him in November.”
Last year, more than 83,000 Nevadans enrolled in a health care plan under the Nevada Health Link Exchange and more than 211,000 have gained coverage since becoming a Medicaid expansion state. Ending the Affordable Care Act would leave hundreds of thousands of Nevadans without life-saving care, devastating hardworking families across our state.
