Unlike Congressman Heck, Dean Heller Thinks U.S. Senate Should Do Its Job

by Nevada Democrats

Las Vegas, NV – We guess a broken clock is right twice a day. Well, once a day in this case. Today, Politico reported that unlike Congressman Heck, Senator Dean Heller actually thinks the United States Senate should do its job and take up President Obama’s upcoming appointment to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court.

While most Republican Senate candidates have taken a position on whether the Senate should fill the vacancy on the court, Congressman Heck has offered only Washington-speak to avoid taking a position. Congressman Heck’s only response has been, “each entity should exercise its prerogative.” What??

You know Congressman Heck is out of touch when he makes Dean Heller look reasonable,” said Sarah Zukowski, spokesperson for the Nevada State Democratic Party. “Congressman Heck needs to drop the Washington-speak and tell Nevadans whether he agrees with his Party’s leadership that the Senate should go a whole year without doing its job.”
