Unpopular, Out-of-Touch Pence to Hold Rally for Struggling Hardy

by Nevada Democrats

The Hardy campaign has announced that Mike Pence will host a rally this weekend to boost Hardy’s struggling campaign. The Pence visit comes after news that the National Republican Congressional Committee has withdrawn financial support from Hardy’s campaign. Pence’s out-of-touch views are a poor fit for Nevada’s Fourth District, and Pence’s national favorability rating has been consistently underwater, making it unclear how helpful the visit could be with undecided voters.

Mike Pence’s Out-of-Touch Record

Hardy has tried hard to win over the most radical and unreasonable wing of the Republican party. Hardy recently announced that “[Trump’s] policies are my policies,” and that his only regret is criticizing Trump’s comments admitting sexual assault in the leaked Access Hollywood tape. Hardy supports Trump’s tax plan that benefits corporations and billionaires while proposing drastic cuts to Social Security and Medicare to pay for it.

Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Michael Soneff released the following statement:

“Mike Pence and Cresent Hardy have a lot in common, both are badly out-of-step with Nevada values and out-of-touch with Nevada voters. Cresent Hardy has made it abundantly clear that he will be a rubber stamp for the Trump-Pence agenda in Congress. Unlike Hardy, Steven Horsford shares Nevada values and will put Nevadans’ interests first in Congress."
