Candidates for DNC Committeman

Alex Goff

Statement 1

Good Afternoon Central Committee members,  Thank you so much for electing me to serve out the rest of Nelson Araujo’s term as our National Committeeman. It has been an honor and now I am asking to serve my own four year term. My eight years in the United States Marine Corps, my role as a Union Steward, my time the Lyon County Party Chair, and my service to the City of Reno on the Human Rights Commission have prepared me for this role. I am proud of what our delegation was able to accomplish in my time. I was a co-sponsor of the resolution to create the DNC’s Council on the Environment & Climate Crisis and the resolution to honor our Assemblyman Tyrone Thompson. During my term I have made it a priority to travel the state, attending local club and caucus meetings. It has also been my privilege to keep our Central Committee informed and updated through my reports. I know in the future we will have challenges, but I want you to know I will continue to lead with the same passion and transparency that you all have come to expect from me. I’m proud of the public showings of support I’ve received from all over the State: Assemblywoman Leslie Cohen, Mayor Daniel Corona, City Councilman Devon Reese, Matt Defalco, and Carissa Snedeker have all posted on social media their support for my candidacy and that is because I have demonstrated my ability to work with and for all of our Democrats all over the State. I would be honored to receive your vote. I hope you and your family stay safe during this time. I look forward to us being able to come together again safely.

–Alex Goff Married to Rebecca Goff, Currently serves on the City of Reno Human Rights Commission, Nevada’s Democratic National Committeeman, IUE-CWA local 89118 Steward, USMC Veteran.

Statement 3

In my third and final message to Delegates and SCC Members, it has been my goal over these last two messages to share more about myself with you so that you can make an educated choice when you VOTE during the 2020 Nevada State Democratic Convention. I respectfully ask that you VOTE for JOE THRONEBERRY, where you see my name on the ballet. If you have any questions for me, feel free to reach out at joethroneberry@aol.com and lets talk. I will commit to making myself available to my fellow Nevada Democrats and carrying your message with me to the DNC and NV Dems Executive Board meetings.

With over 20 years’ experience and industry leader in fighting fraud, I will continue to work hard to promote the ideas of morality, economic reform , efficiency and social welfare within the Democratic Party.

During this campaign process I have met outstanding volunteers, fellow candidates, and those passionate about both improving the Democratic Party and ensuring to elect Democrats up and down the ticket. I have also met some that are for maintaining the “status quo”, going along with the “establishment” even when there are clear conflicts of interest/lack of transparency, others with just plain self-interests, and those that are just clearly not qualified. Please review each and every candidates’ filing documents, personal messages, and social media/campaign material and make an educated vote on who will do the best job. Your critical vote during this virtual Convention will determine the direction for the NV Dems well into 2020, a time critical in history. It is not just about winning in November, it is about what also comes afterward.

In conclusion, I wish to thank you for having taken the time to review my candidacy and respectfully ask for you to VOTE for JOE in November and VOTE for JOE THRONEBERRY during virtual Convention.

Statement 3

Good afternoon my fellow Nevadans. The biggest challenge our party is facing (and will continue facing) is voter turnout, especially for the younger generations. And there are reasons for it: our caucus system is complicated – some would say antiquated – early voting sites saw long lines that discouraged many people from participating in the primary at all, and technologically speaking, we are trailing the GOP (which has far less problems bringing the younger voters in on election day). We need reforms, we need change, we need to ensure younger generations are interested in politics, and understand how important it is for their future that they cast their votes in all elections. As your next DNC Committeeman, I will work hard to update our voting system, and have the democratic party finally step into the 21st century. It is high time we bring all voters back to the the polls, so we never have to witness the debacle of November 2016 again.

Thank you for your time,

Pierre Tissot

Statement 3

We live in an amazing country. We are a nation whose vibrant history is woven together like a fabric of our lives; lives that are black and white and yellow and brown.

We have always been a nation that has welcomed the talents and struggles of people from all nations and faces. We are not a nation who would put those people in cages and take their children from them.

That’s why I am a Democrat. The Democratic Party looks like America. Its strength comes from knowing that what makes America great are the efforts and talents from people of all walks of life.

As a woman of color who grew up in a lower class community and went on to earn my law degree, I have always known that the Democratic Party was the only viable political option for me. It was the only party that truly represented me and what I believe in. Coming into this election cycle we have a lot of issues that need to be cured – human rights, economic stability, the environmental crisis. I am proud that the Democratic Party, my party, stands on the right side of history on all of these issues.

I would be extremely honored to serve as your committeewoman on the SCC. It would give me great pride and purpose to be your voice at the table. I humbly ask for your vote.
