Bucking Bipartisan Efforts as Nevadans Struggle to Afford Homes, Extremist Joe Lombardo Refuses to Crack Down on Wall Street

While Donald Trump and DC Republicans are finally supporting Democrats’ plans to help families afford to buy a home, Joe Lombardo is still sticking with his special interest donors and refusing to back bipartisan efforts to crack down on multi-billion dollar Wall Street firms that are jacking up housing costs.

Real estate special interests have bankrolled Lombardo’s campaign with millions of dollars. In return, Lombardo killed efforts to stop multi-billion-dollar hedge funds from pricing Nevada families out of the market — it doesn’t get more transactional than that.

Now, one in three Nevadans have considered leaving the state because of rising housing costs, and an overwhelming majority of Nevadans think housing is unaffordable. To make matters worse, Trump’s illegal tariffs — that Lombardo supports — are raising the cost to build and purchase a home.

Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Kate Sosland:

“Joe Lombardo is so deep in the pocket of his corporate special interests donors that he refuses to seriously act on housing affordability even though there’s bipartisan support. It’s his deliberate choice to choose Wall Street’s bottom line over Nevada families being priced out. Still, Lombardo has not offered a single plan to hold these multi-billion dollar hedge funds accountable and ensure that Nevadans can afford a home. In Lombardo’s Nevada, working families are always left behind.”
