COUNTDOWN: 10 Days Until Sam Brown Promises to “Debate”

Will Sam Brown keep campaign promise to debate after March 15th, or will he continue to refuse to face primary voters and defend his toxic record?

After skipping every GOP primary debate this cycle and being repeatedly attacked by the MAGA primary field for refusing to face Nevada voters, Mitch McConnell’s handpicked candidate Sam Brown appears to finally be ready to join the debate stage.

Brown’s campaign recently said he would start participating in primary debates after the campaign filing deadline on March 15th.

This reversal comes after Brown faced widespread criticism for being absent from the campaign trail from members of his own party and his primary opponents, even receiving national media attention for refusing to debate.

During his failed 2022 Senate bid, Sam Brown publicly challenged Adam Laxalt to multiple primary debates – even going so far as to call Laxalt “a typical career politician cowardly hiding from voters,” and claiming that instead of debating, “(Laxalt’s) in DC with Mitch McConnell and an audience of DC lobbyist.”

This cycle, he has refused to attend multiple primary debates in a desperate attempt to avoid defending his toxic record that includes his late-to-the-game endorsement of Trump after failed attempts to hide his extreme MAGA views, his scam PAC that swindled grassroots Republican donors to pay off his own campaign debts, and his extreme and widely unpopular opposition to abortion rights.

Nevada State Democratic Party Spokesperson Katharine Kurz

“All eyes are on Sam Brown to see if he finally stops hiding from Nevada voters and joins the debate stage, or whether he continues to be a hypocritical career politician who refuses to answer for his toxic record.”
