MAGA Mayhem- Weekly Senate Update 2/16

Another week, another round of infighting for Nevada Senate Republicans who are making this the messiest and ugliest Senate primary in the country. This is Nevada MAGA Mayhem, your weekly update on the latest news from the Nevada Senate Republican Primary.

KEY TAKEAWAYS: Another GOP Senate primary debate came and went without Brown, Trump admitted he supports a nationwide abortion ban that would override Nevada’s current protections, Brown finally sat down for a TV interview after months of hiding only to be grilled about his refusal to debate, and the Reno airport is getting a new terminal – no thanks to the MAGA candidates’ who would have all voted against  the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

ANOTHER GOP PRIMARY DEBATE CAME AND WENT, AND SAM BROWN SKIPPED IT ✋🛑

Last night, there was another GOP Senate primary debate that Sam Brown didn’t think was important enough to attend. While his opponents used the opportunity to connect with voters, Brown was doing, well, who knows what.

TRUMP 🤫 PRIVATELY 🤫ANNOUNCED SUPPORT FOR A NATIONAL ABORTION BAN

This morning, a breaking news report revealed that Donald Trump privately tells his allies he supports a nationwide abortion ban. It’s clear he will leave no stone unturned in his plans to enact a radical, anti-choice agenda that would override Nevada’s protections – and MAGA extremist Sam Brown and his fellow GOP Senate candidates would be right there with him.

Brown – who is really leaning into his support for the disgraced former president – has a decade-long record of supporting extreme anti-choice policies, including strongly supporting overturning Roe v. Wade, stating that he believes abortion should be banned even in cases of rape or incest, and backing a radical Texas abortion ban without exceptions for rape or incest.

SAM BROWN GETS UNCOMFY ON CAMERA WHEN ASKED ABOUT SKIPPING DEBATES 🎥🤷🏻‍♂️

Over the weekend, Sam Brown gave a rare TV interview where he awkwardly dodged questions about his refusal to debate against his fellow GOP primary candidates.

Brown was called out for speaking “as if [he was] already through the primary,” despite facing heavy criticism from other GOP candidates, who have labeled him Scam Brown and “a pupil of Senator Mitch McConnell.”

During the interview, Brown also doubled down on his MAGA opposition to the bipartisan border security deal, after originally opposing the bill before the text was released, putting him at odds with the National Border Patrol Council, the acting chief of U.S. Customs and Border, and keySenateRepublicans who all endorsed the bill. Hopefully he was able to read it this time.

✈️ RENO AIRPORT RECEIVES BIPARTISAN INFRASTRUCTURE LAW FUNDING FOR NEW TERMINAL… NO THANKS TO SAM BROWN

This week, Senator Jacky Rosen announced that she secured $7 million from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which she helped write and pass, for Reno-Tahoe International Airport’s terminal expansion project.

Meanwhile, Sam Brown has said he’d have sided with MAGA extremists and voted AGAINST this historic and bipartisan investment in Nevada’s infrastructure that’s delivering 140,000 jobs, safer roads and bridges, major airport improvements, and faster internet for rural and underserved communities.
