If you thought stadium ticket prices were expensive, just check out your local grocery store in the Lombardo-Trump economy. The cost of Super Bowl Sunday essentials, including wings, veggie trays, and chips, are high and to the right thanks to Donald Trump’s erratic trade agenda — but Joe Lombardo thinks Nevadans should “feel a little pain” from these tariffs.
On top of rising costs, bettors planning to take their chances on the Super Bowl will be sacked by more taxes because of the GOP’s spending bill provision that effectively adds a tax on gambling losses. Despite bipartisan opposition to this provision, Lombardo said that Nevadans should be “excited” about this bill that is a fumble for Nevada’s gaming economy and tourism industry.
Here’s a look at how the Lombardo-Trump economy is ruining your Super Bowl Sunday:
📈 Chicken wings have seen the highest price increase, 24.6% year over year, with a serving of chicken wings for 10 people costing $39 in 2026, versus $31.30 in 2025.
📈The cost to host a Super Bowl party is 7.2% more expensive overall than last year, more than twice the rate of overall inflation.
📈 Veggie tray prices are up 19.1% since last year.
📈 Meat, poultry, fish and eggs increased by 3.9% between December 2024 and December 2025.
📈 The price of a bag of chips is up 5% since last year.
📈 Takeout prices are up 4.1% since last year.
