NV Dems Release Joe Lombardo’s Final March Madness Veto Villain Bracket

As March Madness nears the final buzzer, NV Dems couldn’t miss the chance to highlight (reel) the results of Joe Lombardo’s veto villain bracket. In the end, Lombardo’s vetoes of AB319, which would have kept school lunches and breakfasts free for students, and AB298, which would have prevented skyrocketing rent costs for seniors and Nevadans with disabilities, faced off in the finals and Nevadans decided that his veto of AB298 was the most harmful to our state.

Lombardo chose to leave our children on the sidelines when he vetoed AB319. But ultimately, after Lombardo doubled down on his vetoes of Democrat-led legislation that would have lowered housing costs, he hired a former lobbyist as his chief of staff whose corporate landlord client stood to benefit directly from Lombardo’s anti-tenant vetoes, and blamed Nevadans being evicted on them just not working hard enough, his veto of AB298 earned the title of most harmful veto for our state.

“Joe Lombardo’s roster includes special interests and a slumlord billionaire campaign donor so it’s no surprise he chose political gain over addressing Nevada’s housing crisis and providing renters with much-needed relief,” said Nevada State Democratic spokesperson Tai Sims.
