Two years ago today, Nevadans found out that the U.S. Supreme Court was preparing to overturn Roe v. Wade, ripping away nearly 50 years of protections for women’s reproductive rights nationwide. On this second anniversary of the Dobbs decision leak, abortion rights are still under threat in Nevada from anti-abortion candidates like Sam Brown, who strongly supported overturning Roe v. Wade that paved the way for the extreme abortion bans in states across the country.
Over the past decade, Brown has made his opposition to abortion rights clear. His extreme anti-abortion record includes:
- Strongly supporting efforts to overturn Roe v. Wade and saying he would only vote for anti-abortion Supreme Court justices and federal judges.
- Backing an extreme abortion ban in Texas with no exceptions for rape or incest that was considered one of the “toughest restrictions in the country.”
- Serving as the local president of a national anti-abortion organization that has backed a nationwide abortion ban, called Roe v. Wade a “moral atrocity,” and praised Texas’ extreme abortion ban.
- Declaring that his anti-abortion position is “non-negotiable.”
