Yesterday, the Nevada State Democratic Party held a press conference with Congresswoman Dina Titus and Assemblymember Cinthia Moore to call out Joe Lombardo for putting Elon Musk’s profits over Nevadans’ safety, leaving two firefighters and as many as 20 Boring Company workers with serious injuries on the job.
It’s been one year since Lombardo’s administration rescinded more than $400K in safety fines against the Boring Company and then tried to hide the evidence. While Lombardo is giving the richest man in the world special treatment, Nevadans still have no real answers from the Governor on this backdoor deal.

“We found out that the Governor was blaming his own OSHA people. There was a lot of finger pointing, blaming the firefighters for not being safe enough on their own account and not pursuing any of the penalties for the violations that were occurring during that drilling,” said Congresswoman Dina Titus. “And we’ve received no answer from Lombardo’s office on our letter that listed these inquiries … If that green fluid is not dangerous, must be like Kool Aid. Let’s see if he wants to drink a glass of it. I doubt that that’s going to be the case.”
“It’s been a whole year since Lombardo’s administration orchestrated a shady cover up with a company owned by the richest man in the world and Nevadans still have zero answers … Nevadans need to know the full scope of how and why Lombardo’s administration tried to cover up this shady deal, ” said Assemblymember Cinthia Moore. “The bottom line is Nevadans deserve answers and instead, Joe Lombardo is busy sucking up to billionaires to score potential points and blaming firefighters for their own injuries. I want to make myself clear: The Governor of our great state is supposed to work for Nevadans, and not Elon Musk – that’s why Joe Lombardo will be a one-term governor.”
