After Clark County firefighters suffered serious chemical burns by toxic sludge in one of Elon Musk’s Boring Company tunnels, Joe Lombardo’s office dropped hundreds of thousands of dollars in safety fines within hours of getting a call from a Musk executive.
Community and labor leaders, including retired firefighter and Battalion Chief Mike Pilcher called out the Lombardo administration for giving the richest man in the world special treatment and blaming firefighters for their own injuries received in Musk’s toxic sludge-filled tunnels.
Here’s what Nevadans are saying about Lombardo’s corrupt cover up for Elon Musk’s Boring Company:

Retired Firefighter and Battalion Chief Mike Pilcher, Fox 5: “The Boring Company blamed the firefighters for their injuries. If that’s not passing the buck, then I don’t know what it is. … So no consideration of reduction in fines. No requirement to improve the toxic pooling inside the tunnels to make for a safer working environment. Nothing for worker’s safety after a months long investigation.”

Tom Durian, Fox 5: “A retired firefighter is sharing his frustrations after two firefighters sustained serious chemical burns during a training exercise in the Boring Company’s under Las Vegas. … We did reach out to Governor Lombardo’s office several times about allegations that his office was contacted before these fines went away. They have not responded to our request for comment.”

Assemblymember Erica Roth, KTNV: “If Lombardo has nothing to hide, the question begs why were records of the fines and their meeting with Musk’s company deleted?”

Shakeria Hawkins, KTNV: “Democrats are accusing Governor Joe Lombardo of giving special treatment to Elon Musk’s Boring Company. This comes after the state dropped more than $400,000 in safety fines after firefighters suffered chemical burns at a Boring Company tunnel. Democrats say fines were dropped within hours of a call with a Boring Company executive.”
