Sam Brown’s Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week Since The GOP Primary

Brown has received unwanted national and local attention for his inability to answer basic questions, his flawed platform and out of touch agenda

Have you ever had a bad week? A really bad week? Well, in the week since MAGA extremist Sam Brown finally managed to make it through a primary, he has been at the center of widespread criticism for his “stumbling” messaging and “unvetted policy chops,” while managing to attack local journalists for doing their jobs along the way.

If this is any indication, Brown is in for many more, terrible, horrible, no good, very bad weeks between now and November 5.

BROWN HAD AN UNHINGED SOCIAL MEDIA MELTDOWN AFTER REFUSING TO ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT HIS OWN COMMENTS

Sam Brown spent the day of the Nevada primary election spiraling and attacking a local reporter who dared to ask about Brown’s previous comments on convicted felon Donald Trump.

Brown refused multiple times to answer a local reporter’s questions about calling Trump’s 34 felony convictions a “sham” and then proceeded to attack the reporter directly on social media. Brown later posted a video of his temper tantrum, accusing the reporter of being a “sham journalist.”

NEVADA REPUBLICANS CONCERNED AS BROWN STUMBLES OUT OF THE PRIMARY, GOP STRATEGISTS CRITICIZE FLAWED POLICY PLANS

Read more of the scathing criticism Brown is hearing as he enters the general election:

ABC News: Republicans torn over Trump-backed Sam Brown, the nominee in key Nevada Senate race

  • Nevada Republican Sam Brown cruised to victory in the GOP Senate primary earlier this week. Now, he’ll have to compete against a well-heeled incumbent — and Republicans are nervous.
  • But, Republican operatives warned to ABC News, being competitive and actually winning are two different things, and it’s unclear whether his personal story and unvetted policy chops are enough to convince Nevadans he can tackle the issues they care about.
  • “… do you know the issues? Is he able to bring more to the table than what he had unfortunately gone through physically while serving in the military?” asked one Nevada GOP strategist, who spoke anonymously about the race. “Of course, I would love to have a Republican senator, but we’re in a purple state, and you need to have somebody who knows the inside and outs of what the people actually need.”
  • “If you’re still stumbling around on your message on Yucca Mountain and abortion, God help you,” a second Nevada GOP strategist added.
  • When asked if Brown had campaigned that way so far, [Robert Uithoven] replied, “Not to the level that it needs to be for the general.”

Las Vegas Review-Journal: 2024 Election: Where Nevada’s federal races are at, what the biggest issues will be

  • “The problem for Brown is he’s going to have to show he knows something about Nevada,” Damore said. He made missteps with Yucca Mountain and Brightline West, Damore said, so he is going to have to “get up to speed on Nevada.”
  • Before moving to Northern Nevada in 2018, Brown lived in Texas and unsuccessfully ran for office there in 2014. Recently, Brown faced criticism for his stance on a proposed nuclear waste repository at Yucca Mountain that’s widely opposed by Nevadans on both sides of the aisle.
  • For Brown, a major objective is to figure out what issues matter to Nevada.

BROWN EXPOSED FOR USING HIS WIFE’S PERSONAL STORY AS “SMOKESCREEN” AND SLAMMED FOR PAST SEXIST REMARKS ALL IN ONE WEEK

Brown was exposed for “using his wife’s personal story as a smokescreen on his newfound position on abortion.” This includes falsely telling NBC News this was the first time they had shared this story publicly.

KEY QUOTE: “The Browns also said the February interview was the first time Amy publicly shared her abortion story, but Amy’s spoken about it at least three times before, often in opposition to reproductive freedom.”

Also this week, Daily Kos slammed Brown for his extreme anti-abortion record and past sexist comments he has made about women he has run against when making endorsements.

KEY QUOTE: “[Brown] endorsed Linda Koop over Stefani Carter, citing Koop’s “shared experience” in the community compared to Carter, who was “not married with children to provide for or nurture and has refused to plant roots.”

And to top it off, Brown’s close ties to anti-abortion extremist Ralph Reed were under the microscope after Reed shamefully compared abortion to slavery. Reed is the founder of the Faith and Freedom Coalition, of which Brown previously served as the President and Chairman of Nevada’s chapter, before attempting to scrub any evidence of his time there.

KEY QUOTE: “Ralph Reed, founder of the anti-abortion group the Faith and Freedom Coalition, compared abortion to slavery in a June 5 interview with the Washington Post,” and “A Brown spokesperson did not immediately respond to questions for this story.”

BROWN REFUSES TO SUPPORT BAN ON DEADLY BUMP STOCKS

While Jacky Rosen is working to pass bipartisan legislation to permanently ban bump stocks after the Supreme Court’s decision striking down the federal ban on these deadly weapons modifications, Sam Brown has repeatedly refused to condemn this ruling and declined to support federal legislation banning bump stocks. The Trump-era rule banning bump stocks was put in place after 1 October in Las Vegas, which remains the deadliest mass shooting in American history.

Brown has consistently opposed bipartisan, commonsense gun safety measures in the past like red flag laws and universal background checks.
