New reporting shows that Nevada is one of the least affordable states in the U.S. under Joe Lombardo’s failed leadership. From a weak economy to health care outcomes to public safety, Nevadans are struggling “across multiple measures that make day-to-day life harder.” Instead of offering plans to lower costs, Lombardo caves to Donald Trump every chance he gets and even said Nevadans should “feel a little pain.”
Although Lombardo’s campaign has falsely claimed “our economy is moving in the right direction,” unemployment is now higher in Nevada than when Lombardo took office. Nevada has one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation and unpopular GOP policies will only keep that number growing as tourism and travel to the state continue to decline.
On top of the Lombardo-Trump tariffs pummeling the tourism industry, working families’ health care costs continue to skyrocket and Trump’s Medicaid cuts could shutter four hospitals in Nevada. Yet, Lombardo said Nevadans should be “excited” about Trump’s bill — which inflicts steep health care cuts in order to pay for tax cuts for billionaires — despite our state being one of the hardest hit by it.
“Thanks to the Lombardo-Trump economy, tourism is plummeting, inflation is getting worse, and Nevada has one of the worst unemployment rates in the nation,” said Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Kate Sosland. “Nevadans can’t afford four more years of broken promises and a Trump rubber stamp.”
