Just a few months into the job, Governor Lombardo is already coming unglued. The Democratic-led legislature is sending five budget bills to his desk that include historic funding for public education, much needed pay raises for state employees, including state police, and major investments in health care, but Lombardo is threatening to veto this critical funding and cause a government shutdown unless his out of touch priorities are addressed first.
Legislative Republicans already turned their backs on Nevada families by voting against record education funding and pay raises for law enforcement. Now as the governor throws a temper tantrum, all eyes are on Lombardo to see if he’ll follow through on his threats to put schools, public safety and essential state services at risk just to appease his party.
