Tonight’s U.S. Senate debate will feature Sam Brown desperately trying to cover up and run away from his extreme record and his far-right MAGA agenda. Whether it’s his support for extreme abortion bans, threats to Social Security and Medicare, calls for eliminating the Department of Education, or his plans to restart Yucca Mountain as a dumping ground for the nation’s nuclear waste, Sam Brown has proven time and time again that he’s too MAGA for Nevada.
Brown’s far-right record includes:
- Pushing to ban abortion even in cases of rape or incest, supporting a Texas law that had some of the toughest abortion restrictions in the country, saying that his anti-abortion views are “non-negotiable,” and serving as the local president of an extreme anti-abortion group that supports a national abortion ban.
- Praising an extreme plan that would phase out Social Security and Medicare in five years – calling it a “roadmap for a better America.”
- Opposing the Affordable Care Act and consistently pushing to repeal it – threatening to take health insurance away from hundreds of thousands of Nevadans.
- Calling the Inflation Reduction Act and its prescription drug pricing provisions to cap insulin at $35/month and empower Medicare to negotiate lower prescription drug prices “a big loss for the American people.”
- Saying that reviving Yucca Mountain as a nuclear waste repository is an “incredible opportunity” – putting him at odds with scientific, business, and political leaders from across the Silver State.
- Opposing this year’s Bipartisan Border Security Deal before the text of the bill was even released solely because of Trump’s opposition. When the bill text was actually made public, Brown doubled down and immediately opposed the widely supported bipartisan plan, putting him at odds with the Border Patrol Union.
