Four years ago, Trump’s hand-picked justice Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed by the United States Senate. Two years later, Coney Barrett was the deciding vote on Dobbs v. Jackson which overturned Roe v. Wade and rolled back freedoms for millions of women across the country. Today, extreme and out of touch NVGOP Congressional candidates Mark Robertson and John Lee have both committed to voting against Question 6, the ballot initiative to permanently protect and enshrine abortion rights in the state’s Constitution. Drew Johnson, who worked with the architects of Project 2025 for 25 years, refuses to answer whether or not he would support Question 6.
Nearly every Republican running in a competitive legislative district refused to answer how they would vote on Question 6. Last legislative session, every single GOP legislator voted against enshrining the right to infertility care and abortion rights into Nevada’s Constitution, and the vast majority of Republicans voted against AB383, which would have protected Nevadans’ access to contraception
“As president, Donald Trump installed extreme anti-choice judges across the country and while women have their reproductive rights stripped away, NVGOP candidates are doubling down on their anti-choice, anti-women agendas,” said Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado. “On this anniversary of his last Supreme Court appointment, hardworking Nevada families are reminded of how extreme and out of touch Trump and his cronies up and down the ballot are with everyday Nevadans. We cannot go back to the way things were, and must continue on a New Way Forward.”
