The Nevada GOP continues to run joke candidates who support extremist agendas over real results for Nevada’s families
During National Clown Week, we’d be remiss not to highlight our local clown show of GOP candidates and their extreme Project 2025 agenda. From Donald Trump to the state legislative races, the NVGOP has exhibited some quite clownish behavior with their policy pitches… or lack thereof.
See below for the clown show:
In CD-1, the Clown Week Award goes to Republicans for renominating MAGA extremist Mark Robertson. Robertson is complicit in Donald Trump’s extreme MAGA-Project 2025 agenda to ban abortion nationwide, not to mention he also wants to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which would take away health care from nearly four-hundred thousand Nevadans and repeal protections for millions of Americans with pre-existing conditions like asthma and cancer, so insurance companies can deny them coverage.
In CD-3, the wannabe NRCC Young Gun Drew Johnson showed that he does not care for Nevada’s seniors. He believes that Social Security is a “failed policy” that turns beneficiaries into a burden on our economy and believes that anyone who relies on Social Security for their retirement is not a “responsible adult,” rather they are a “socialist suckling off the teat of gov’t.”
In CD-4, for Clown Week we’re honoring John Lee the failed former North Las Vegas Mayor who even with the backing of Donald Trump and Joe Lombardo could barely get through a primary against a no name challenger. Lee also praised the overturning of Roe v. Wade and promised to govern as the most pro-life governor in Nevada history during a failed gubernatorial run, and was under a disturbing investigation for possession of child pornography on his iPad.
“The circus must be in town because the clown show is on full display in Nevada. From plans to end birthright citizenship to pushing an out-of-touch agenda to ban abortion nationwide, Republicans continued to exhibit clown-like behavior,” said Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado. “While Democrats continue to fight for Social Security and Medicare for our seniors, expand reproductive health care for women, and create good-paying union jobs, the NVGOP continues to prioritize their loyalty to Donald Trump over the well-being of Nevadans.”
