As Ron DeSantis gears up to speak at Adam Laxalt’s annual Basque Fry tomorrow, local leaders slammed DeSantis’ extreme MAGA agenda that includes banning abortion and furthering the Big Lie, putting him wildly out of step with Nevadans.
“[DeSantis’] MAGA agenda is full of dangerous policies that I believe will hurt Nevadans, including banning abortion, cutting Social Security and Medicare, turning the Silver State into a nuclear waste dump, and peddling baseless claims about the 2020 election,” said Devon Reese, Vice Mayor for Reno, NV. “[Ron DeSantis’ dangerous record] is against everything we stand for here in Nevada, and his assault on reproductive freedom and the right to have free and fair elections will not be tolerated.”
“While we racked up accomplishments to expand abortion protections in our state, DeSantis racked up a dangerous anti-choice record… He took it even further and signed an extreme law this year that bans abortion before many people even know they’re pregnant,” said NARAL Southwest Regional Director Caroline Mello Roberson. “Ron DeSantis has shown he’s willing to put Floridians’ lives at risk just to enact this extreme agenda.”
