Yesterday, MAGA extremist Sam Brown was pressed on his record of pushing to overturn the 2020 election results in Nevada and helping spread the kinds of baseless conspiracy theories that ultimately fueled the January 6 insurrection – one of the darkest days in American history that resulted in the deaths of five people and injured 140 law enforcement officers.
During an interview at IndyFest, Brown stumbled over basic questions about his repeated attacks on Adam Laxalt for failing to successfully challenge the results of the 2020 election in Nevada – and Jon Ralston brought the receipts.
KEY MOMENT:
RALSTON: You said Adam Laxalt didn’t do enough to protest the election here.
BROWN: Is that what I said?
RALSTON: Yeah, I looked it up.
BROWN: Is that a quote, Jon?
RALSTON: It said, when President Trump – you didn’t think I’d bring the quote, did you? – ‘When President Trump, Nevadans and Americans were relying on you to be the one to challenge any sort of issues in the 2020 election the only thing you did was file a lawsuit that, by your own admission, was late.’ So there’s two things right there, since you asked for the quote, sir, one is that the people were asking him to do something, implying that there was fraud in the election, which there’s no evidence of. What else did you expect him to do?
BROWN: Well, Jon, if you – the proper way to interpret that is–
RALSTON: Oh, here we go. Okay.
Brown has repeatedly supported MAGA efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Nevada even after the deadly January 6 insurrection, and actively spread the kind of election conspiracy theories that had fueled the brutal mob attacking the Capitol on January 6 and even downplayed the violent events of that day.
Brown said the violent rioters who attacked our nation’s Capitol, which led to the deaths of five law enforcement officers, were just showing a “patriotic expression” of their “love of country.”
