Shapiro has likened abortion to slavery, wants to jail abortion providers, and has also publicly opposed abortion ban exception for rape or incest
Shapiro has criticized Social Security as a “Ponzi scheme,” attacked Medicare, and advocated for raising the retirement age
MAGA extremist Sam Brown continues to find new ways to prove that he’s too MAGA for Nevada – including by joining far-right commentator and fellow anti-abortion extremist Ben Shapiro at several campaign stops in Las Vegas today.
While Shapiro has disgracefully compared abortion to slavery and called Social Security a “Ponzi scheme,” Brown is all too happy to cozy up to the far-right media personality as they push their anti-abortion, anti-Social Security and Medicare agenda on hardworking Nevadans. Here are just some of the radical views Brown is aligning himself with by inviting Shapiro to join him on the campaign trail:
- Shapiro likened the procedure of having an abortion to slavery.
- Shapiro called for the jailing of abortion providers.
- Shapiro called himself “fully pro-life” and opposed exceptions even in “controversial” cases of rape or incest.
- Shapiro called retirement “a stupid idea” and said, “no one in the United States should be retiring at 65 years old.”
- Shapiro called Social Security a “Ponzi scheme” and cited Medicare as one of the reasons the US has a poor health care system.
Nevada State Democratic Party Spokesperson Katharine Kurz
“Sam Brown continues to find new ways to remind Nevadans that he’s just too MAGA to represent our state. By cozying up to a controversial and offensive right-wing extremist like Ben Shapiro, who wants to jail abortion providers and called Social Security a ‘Ponzi scheme,’ Brown is confirming to Nevada voters that he would be another MAGA extremist in the Senate voting to take away abortion rights and force massive cuts to Social Security and Medicare benefits Nevada seniors have earned.”
