Last weekend, the Nevada Democrats’ coordinated campaign hosted Senator Jacky Rosen, Congresswoman Susie Lee and NV Dems Chair Daniele Monroe-Moreno to kick off the first day of early voting with a traditional Filipino Kamayan feast in honor of AAPI Heritage Month. During the event, Democratic candidates discussed the pivotal role of AAPI voters in this election. Nevada is home to one of the fastest-growing AAPI populations in the country with a majority identifying as Filipino.
The Biden-Harris Administration has delivered the most equitable economic recovery on record with nearly 15 million jobs created, including historic AAPI small business growth. President Biden, Senator Rosen, and Nevada Democrats are working to ensure equal access to a high-quality education, expand affordable healthcare for children and families, combat hate, improve disaster recovery, preserve indigenous heritage and lands, and protect civil rights by advancing language access and data equity.
Senator Rosen is an associate member of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus and has consistently worked to deliver for Nevada’s growing AANHPI community. She has secured national investments for initiatives to expand language access and combat anti-Asian hate, and is also working to increase opportunities for minority students to start their own businesses, to promote the teaching of AANHPI history in K-12 schools and to expedite the visa process for the children of Filipino World War II veterans.
