Today, new reporting from Puck revealed that Robert Bigelow, the real estate mogul who financed Joe Lombardo’s gubernatorial candidacy to the tune of $30 million, is now backing Donald Trump’s candidacy for president.
After Trump himself claimed that having Lombardo in office would be “a big advantage” to him, Lombardo has remained silent on Trump and his fake electors spreading baseless conspiracy theories throughout Nevada and threatening our democracy. Now, there’s even more proof that they’ll always remain allies: the fact that they’re bought and paid for by the same billionaire donor. Lombardo has continuously delivered for Bigelow’s business interests by vetoing numerous affordable housing bills that would have eased the state’s housing crisis – and now, Bigelow is signaling that he hopes that Trump will sell out Nevada families in the exact same way.
“Donald Trump and Joe Lombardo are one in the same: they’re too extreme for Nevada and will prioritize the interests of whoever has the most money,” said Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Stephanie Justice. “Nevadans deserve real leaders at all levels of government who will put them and their families first, but it’s clear neither Lombardo or Trump are up for the task.”
