Today, NV Dems announced three key additions to the Communications Department. Nevada is uniquely equipped to deliver the White House for Vice President Kamala Harris and by hiring a large, diverse, and Nevada-centric team, that has experience in hyper-local races, the Nevada State Democratic Party is building on its work to mobilize key constituencies of the Democratic coalition to elect Democrats up and down the ballot in November.
“Nevada is the most diverse battleground state, and it is only fitting that the NV Dems have built one of the largest most diverse communications teams of any state party in any battleground state,” said Nevada State Democratic Party Communications Director Tai Sims. “Nevada is uniquely equipped to deliver the White House for Vice President Kamala Harris, and by bringing on experienced Nevada-centric Spanish-speaking staff in these key positions, our team has not only continued to deliver on Chair Monroe-Moreno’s promise to build a state party that looks like Nevada, but we are also stronger in our effort to communicate with every Nevadan and elect Democrats up and down the ballot.”
Nicholas Simões Machado, Press Secretary
Nicholas Simões Machado joins the Nevada State Democratic Party from Baltimore, Maryland, having recently served as campaign manager for two back-to-back citywide victories, most recently for Mayor Brandon Scott’s re-election, defeating a MAGA billionaire-backed candidate who received the single largest campaign contribution in city history. The son of Brazilian immigrants, Machado served as a senior advisor for the Maryland Legislative Latino Caucus and has a long history of grassroots and political work in Maryland’s Latino community.
