NV Dems Applauds $3 Billion in Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Funding for Brightline West Rail Project

Nevada State Democratic Party Chair Daniele Monroe-Moreno released the following statement praising new Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding for the Brightline West rail project:

“I thank President Biden, Senator Jacky Rosen, and our Democratic congressional delegation for their leadership in securing $3 billion in funding for the Brightline West high-speed rail project. Once again, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, led by the Biden administration and Democrats, is delivering for our state and creating the infrastructure needed to make the lives of Nevadans and its visitors easier. This project will not only boost our tourism economy, but also create good-paying, union jobs. This funding is just further proof that while Donald Trump and Republicans like Sam Brown continue their smear campaign against the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Democrats are getting things done for Nevadans.”

The Brightline West high-speed rail project will reduce CO2 emissions by 75% per passenger mile in comparison to travel by a personal vehicle and eliminate three million car trips annually. The project will also allow for the creation of at least 35,000 construction jobs.
