Yesterday, nearly 80 Black men attended the NV Dems’ Black Male Perspective event headlined by Congressional Black Caucus Chair Steven Horsford and Attorney General Aaron Ford and hosted by Mel Tillar, Vice President of 100 Black Men of Las Vegas with special guest Bakari Sellers. The group held a discussion on the dangers of a second Trump term, highlighted the strengths of Vice President Kamala Harris and her candidacy for president, and raised hundreds of dollars in two hours for the Harris campaign.
“Our democracy, our rights, and our history are on the line this coming election. Vice President Kamala Harris represents the future of our party and will continue to move us forward as a nation and lift up all people in our community,” said Congressman Horsford, Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus. “For Black men, the Biden-Harris Administration has made tremendous strides in the area of gun violence prevention, job training opportunities, student loan forgiveness, and small business opportunities. As President, Kamala Harris will expand on those opportunities and promote our economic opportunities and wealth-building agenda. I am proud to stand with my friends Attorney General Aaron Ford, Mel Tillar, and Bakari Sellers to highlight why this election matters to Black Men in Nevada and across the country.”
“Black men across Nevada gathered to discuss how we can best organize to elect Vice President Kamala Harris this November,” said Attorney General Aaron Ford. “From creating the lowest Black unemployment rate on record and increasing Black wealth 60% to cutting Black child poverty in half and having the narrowest racial wealth gap in 20 years, Vice President Harris has been instrumental in implementing the Biden-Harris administration’s policies that have improved the lives of Black families across the Silver State.”
