What Dems Are Doing:

Pushing Back Against Trump’s Billionaire-First Policies, Gutting Education and Medicaid:

  • U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto invited Sparks school Principal Jason Shipman to be her guest at Tuesday’s joint session of Congress address. Senator Cortez Masto highlighted the importance of ensuring Nevada students receive a quality education no matter where they live and slammed Donald Trump’s plan to dismantle the Dept. of Education and disrupt resources Title I schools need to serve their students.
  • U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen brought a teen who has relied on Medicaid to get the care he needs to stay alive as her guest to Donald Trump’s Joint Session of Congress Address to show the real impact Republicans’ plan to pay for tax cuts for billionaires and large corporations by cutting Medicaid funding will have on the lives of Nevadans.
  • Congressman Steven Horsford brought a member of Culinary Union 226 with him as his guest to Tuesday’s joint session. Congressman Horsford slammed Republicans for introducing legislation that would give tax breaks to billionaires instead of taking up his TIPS Act which would eliminate taxes on tips and end the subminimum wage for the working class.
  • Congresswoman Susie Lee pushed back against Donald Trump’s joint address to Congress noting that Trump’s new tariffs are increasing costs across the board and his budget proposal will take away healthcare from hundreds of thousands of working Nevadans.
  • Congresswoman Dina Titus made clear that, “Nothing Trump could say in his joint address tonight would change the damage he’s done to public health and safety, essential government programs, and our democracy in the past six weeks.”

That’s all for now!
