Following Donald Trump calling for the economy to crash – which would devastate working Nevada families – during an interview on Fox News, Nevada State Democratic Party Executive Director Hilary Barrett released the following statement:
“After ending his term as president with the worst jobs record in modern American history and doubling down on an economic plan that will only raise costs on our middle class, Donald Trump’s call for the economy to crash is an affront to everyday Nevada families, who would be crushed if Trump got his way. Trump showed us he only cares about himself and his rich friends as he made the wealthiest Americans and corporations richer off of the backs of hardworking Nevadans. But where Trump’s failed trickle-down policies only cripple our economy, President Biden is working every single day to lower costs and build the economy from the bottom up and the middle out. Nevadans know that President Biden and Vice President Harris will always put Silver State families first – not the interests of themselves or the ultra-wealthy like Trump – and that’s why they’ll send them to the White House in November once again.”
While Trump wants the economy destroyed, President Biden is delivering for working Nevadans:
- President Biden has helped create more than 14 million jobs, including over 279,000 in Nevada alone, and helped create more jobs last year than during any year under Donald Trump.
- Donald Trump has the worst jobs record since the Great Depression.
- Under President Biden, 800,000 manufacturing jobs have been created, and another 875,000 in construction and engineering. That’s more than at any point under Donald Trump.
- Nearly 96,000 Nevadans saved an average of $800 on health insurance in 2023 and almost 562,000 seniors and other Medicare beneficiaries in Nevada will save on prescription drug costs thanks to President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act.
- Donald Trump wants to repeal the IRA, which would raise Nevadans’ costs.
