Sam Brown was exposed for creating a “scam” PAC to pay off his campaign debts – one of many ethics scandals he’s faced this cycle
One year ago today, MAGA extremist Sam Brown was exposed for starting a PAC purported to “help elect Republicans” that instead was almost entirely used to pay off the campaign debts from his failed 2022 Senate bid – “a move one campaign finance expert likened to using the PAC as a ‘slush fund.’”
Not only did Brown face an FEC complaint over his shady dealings – it earned him the nickname of “Scam” Brown that’s continued to haunt him throughout his second doomed bid for office.
This isn’t the only example of Sam Brown breaking the rules for his own benefit. His other ethics scandals include:
- Being accused of illegally coordinating between his 2022 campaign and a super PAC that was conspicuously set up by his top allies to support his primary against Adam Laxalt.
- Failing to disclose his role as the local president of an extreme anti-abortion group that has backed a nationwide abortion ban and called Roe v. Wade a “moral atrocity,” which he held as recently as October 2023.
- After a complaint was filed, the Nevada Faith & Freedom Coalition abruptly scrubbed all mentions of Sam Brown from its website.

- Failing to disclose that he still managed a business in Texas even after he’d moved to Nevada.
Nevada State Democratic Party Spokesperson Katharine Kurz
“Scam Brown’s repeated attempts to deceive voters and break campaign laws to help his political ambitions prove that he is nothing more than a desperate politician who will do or say anything to finally win an election. This anniversary is a reminder that Scam Brown only cares about himself and pushing his MAGA agenda – and that’s why Nevadans can’t trust him to look out for us in the Senate.”
