Brown’s latest effort to rewrite his toxic anti-abortion history only raises more questions
Last week, NRSC-backed Sam Brown desperately tried to cover up his long history of fiercely advocating for an extreme, anti-abortion agenda – only raising more questions about where Brown actually stands on the issue of reproductive freedom.
Brown’s real record includes strongly supporting overturning Roe v. Wade, which opened the door for nationwide restrictions on reproductive rights like the recent IVF ruling in Alabama. He has also stated that he believes abortion should be banned even in cases of rape or incest, backed a radical Texas abortion ban without exceptions for rape or incest, and was the state leader of an extreme anti-choice organization.
While Brown tries to hide his decade-long anti-abortion views, here are questions he needs to answer:
- Do you support the current effort to protect abortion rights in the Nevada constitution, which the overwhelming majority of Nevadans support?
- Why are you refusing to stand up to your own party, including your top ally Sen. Hyde-Smith, as they block legislation to protect IVF treatment at the federal level?
- Why have you been silent as anti-choice judges block access to abortion medication that has been approved by the FDA for decades?
- Do you support Donald Trump and his allies’ plans to use the Comstock Act in order to restrict access to abortion medication if he is elected in November?
- Do you still oppose funding for Planned Parenthood, which provides critical healthcare services for women, including cancer screening, birth control, and abortion access?
