REMINDER: Sam Brown Opposes Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Attacked Federal Funding for Las Vegas High-Speed Rail

Following news that Senator Jacky Rosen secured $3 billion in federal funding for a long-awaited high-speed rail project between Southern California and Las Vegas, here’s your reminder that Mitch McConnell’s handpicked candidate Sam Brown opposes the widely supported infrastructure project that is expected to create tens of thousands of good-paying jobs in Nevada.

Brown has openly attacked federal funding for the Brightline West high-speed rail project, a bipartisan effort backed by business and labor groups as well as Governor Lombardo’s administration to boost tourism and grow Nevada’s economy.

Brown also said he would have voted against the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which is delivering historic investments in Nevada’s airports, roads, bridges, and rural broadband while creating thousands of good-paying union jobs. He also called the bipartisan legislation a “CCP bailout” and criticized McConnell for “dragging” Republicans into voting for it during his last failed Senate bid.

REPORTER: You mentioned cutting back on spending, what then is your view on the president’s infrastructure proposals?

SAM BROWN: I wouldn’t have voted in agreement with the infrastructure proposal.

REPORTER: Both of them?

BROWN: Yeah.

Nevada State Democratic Party Spokesperson Johanna Warshaw
“Having just moved to Nevada from Texas, Sam Brown continues to prove just how little he knows about the Silver State – including attacking a widely popular and bipartisan infrastructure project that is now poised to create thousands of good-paying jobs and boost tourism across Southern Nevada.”
