Brown has long pushed to dismantle the ACA and take away a program that provides of thousands of Nevadans health care
MAGA extremist Sam Brown is now trying to cover up his decade-long support for repealing the Affordable Care Act (ACA), which provides hundreds of thousands of Nevadans health care. But Brown’s record shows he would vote to repeal this critical lifeline.
Here are the facts about Brown’s decade of pushing to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, which could cause Nevadans’ health care costs to skyrocket and roll back protections for pre-existing conditions:
- During his failed run for Texas State House in 2014, Brown said that the ACA should not be adopted or supported in any way, shape, or form and called for resisting the ACA as much as possible.
- On his campaign website today, Brown makes clear that he opposes the Affordable Care Act.
- Brown called the “fight against Obamacare” one of his key campaign platforms on his past campaign website, and pledged to “resist the expansion of Obamacare in Texas.”
- Brown is also a proud supporter of Donald Trump, who has long advocated for repealing the Affordable Care Act.
- Brown opposes efforts to provide lower prescription costs, calling the new law capping insulin costs at $35/month for seniors and giving Medicare the power to negotiate for lower prescription drug prices a “big loss for the American people.”
Nevada State Democratic Party Spokesperson Katharine Kurz:
“Over the last decade, Sam Brown has made clear that he would be a vote to repeal and gut the Affordable Care Act, which hundreds of thousands of Nevadans depend on for coverage. If Sam Brown had his way, health care prices would skyrocket for seniors, and insurance companies could once again discriminate against Nevadans with pre-existing conditions. Brown is wrong for Nevadans on health care, and voters will see through yet another election-year attempt to cover up his toxic record.”
