Sam Brown’s Extreme MAGA Agenda: Gut the ACA, Take Away Health Care from Hundreds Of Thousands of Nevadans, and Drive Up Prescription Drug Costs

Brown supports repealing the Affordable Care Act, which provides affordable health care to more than 360,000 Nevadans

This week, we’re highlighting how Sam Brown’s extreme MAGA agenda puts him wildly out of step with Nevadans. If Brown had his way and his toxic support for repealing the Affordable Care Act came to be, hundreds of thousands of Nevadans would lose their health coverage, once again be discriminated against for pre-existing conditions, be forced to pay higher premiums, pay more for prescription drugs and lose access to preventative care.

  • On current and past campaign websites, Brown has made bashing the Affordable Care Act one of the main tenets of his health care policy.
  • Brown also called the new law to lower prescription drug costs, which caps insulin costs at $35 per month for seniors and gives Medicare the power to negotiate for lower prescription drug prices, a “big loss for the American people.”
  • During his failed run for office in Texas in 2014, Brown said that the Affordable Care Act was not something to “adopt or support in any way, shape, or form” and called to resist the ACA as much as possible.

Nevada State Democratic Party Spokesperson Katharine Kurz

“MAGA extremist Sam Brown’s support for repealing the Affordable Care Act would be devastating to more than 360,000 Nevadans who rely on this critical program for coverage. Brown’s far-right agenda would drive up health care and prescription drug costs and threaten protections for people with pre-existing conditions, proving once again just how out of step he is with Nevadans.”
