On the one-year anniversary of Sam Brown launching his second doomed U.S. Senate campaign, the Nevada State Democratic Party is releasing a new video from notable Nevadans welcoming Brown to the Silver State and telling him that it’s alright that he’s had a hard time adjusting to his new home!
Brown, who once said it would “take an act of God” to get him out of Texas, has spent the past year proving just how little he understands about the state he moved to in order to run for office once again.
Whether it was getting caught on tape pushing to reopen Yucca Mountain and turn Nevada into a dumping ground for the nation’s nuclear waste, trying and failing to cover up his decade-long anti-abortion record, or his support for an extreme plan to gut Social Security and Medicare – it’s been a rough year for Sam.
Script:
Dave Goucher: Hey Sam, Dave Goucher here, Golden Knights TV Yapper.
Ron Thomas: Hey Sam, what’s going on? It’s Ron Thomas from the Karate Kid.
Liz Kitley: Hi Sam, it’s Liz Kitley, I am currently with the Aces here in Las Vegas.
AJ Cole: What’s up Sam, this is AJ Cole, punter for LV Raiders.
Elvis Impersonator: Hey Sam, how you doing man?
Arissa Hill: I heard that you’re new, and that you don’t particularly feel connected to your community, and that you’ve been having a pretty tough year.
Thomas: You moved from Texas to Reno recently, and maybe you’ve been having a little bit of a hard time.
Goucher: I know you’re trying to get acclimated to Nevada, and it’s taking a little time, it took me some time too.
Cole: I just wanted to send you a little bit of encouragement to keep putting yourself out there.
Elvis Impersonator: I’ve been here for almost 17 years now, and there’s a lot of things to do in this community, I definitely hope you enjoy yourself.
Goucher: We love it in Nevada, and I know you will too.
Hill: I know that everything is so difficult in terms of just a relocation just in itself.
Kitley: It was a little hard to get my bearings at first, but now I’m really loving it here, so I’m sure you’ll feel the same way. Hopefully you have a similar experience.
Thomas: Enjoy it, you’ll get used to it.
Elvis Impersonator: Come on, Sam! Viva Las Vegas!
