The 2-year anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act is a reminder of Joe Lombardo and the NVGOP’s laser-focused effort to allow Big Drug Companies to price-gouge working families and keep prescription drug costs high.
In 2023, AB250 was introduced for Nevada to take advantage of the Biden-Harris Inflation Reduction Act, critical legislation “that allowed Medicare to negotiate the price of prescription drugs — by applying those lower negotiated-prices to all Nevadans , not just to those on Medicare.”
With Democrats standing united in their vote to lower costs for Nevada’s hardworking families, Big Pharma relied on the NVGOP and Joe Lombardo to veto the bill. His reward? Big checks totaling nearly $100,000 in campaign cash from big drug companies.
Nevada State Democratic Party Spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado:
“It’s a shame Joe Lombardo chooses to support multi-billion dollar drug companies over lowering costs for Nevada’s working families. With his history of being funded by a billionaire slumlord, hiding dark money political donations, and violating ethics laws, Joe Lombardo has a pretty clear track record: he’s bought, he’s paid for, and he’s still up for sale. Where Nevada Democrats have made it a point to fight for lower costs for Nevadans, Joe Lombardo and Republicans in the Legislature continue to show how out of touch they are.”
