Coordinated Campaign: Deputy Voter Protection Director

We are looking for a talented and passionate Deputy Director to help lead our state’s Voter Protection and Access organizing program. In this role, you will help ensure all eligible Nevadans are able to cast their ballot in 2024 and help elect Democrats up and down the ticket! The Deputy Voter Protection Director will work closely with the Voter Protection Director to implement a comprehensive voter protection plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the State Voter Protection and Access Director (VPD) in developing and leading the program
  • Oversee and execute volunteer recruitment efforts for poll observer, hotline, and other voter protection programming.
  • Supervise and support state-level voter protection associates and/or other staff and volunteers
  • Develop and activate volunteer pipelines and processes, including processes around recruiting, training, assigning, credentialing, and managing volunteers.
  • Create resources and facilitate trainings for voter protection volunteers and volunteer leaders.
  • Develop metrics and goals, in collaboration with the VPD and campaign’s Regional Voter Protection and Access Directors at national headquarters
  • Liaise closely with other departments on the state team and in national HQ

Ideal Skills & Qualifications:

  • Prior organizing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience hiring and managing staff and building an effective team
  • 1+ cycle of experience working in voter protection or related work or 1+ cycles of experience working in statewide organizing or political roles
  • Ability to understand election laws and regulations and advocate for pro-voter reforms
  • Experience working with NGP/VAN and/or experience working with LBJ
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively
  • Experience juggling multiple priorities in a fast paced environment that requires exceptional organization, creativity, versatility, and problem solving
  • A strong commitment

Salary: $7,000 per month
